Kaveh Ahangar, is an artist from Iran who grew up in Dubai. After a ten-year stint as the Head of Merchandise Planning in Dubai’s Luxury Fashion & Retail Industry, He spent two years traveling throughout South America in search of inspiration for his art.
In semi-isolation, he discovered his geometric direction in the Amazon Jungle. Kaveh’s art symbolizes the interconnectedness of everything and everyone by using the same geometry that molecules in nature use to link and build everything around us.
Kaveh produced a 3D multi-layered wall design for the District 2020 Hub that included multiple Expo2020 pavilions as well as natural elements from the UAE. The architectural layout of Expo 2020 and the mobility pavilion is included in the design of each individual item. The overall flow of the pieces is reminiscent of desert dunes and ocean shells.
Expo 2020 motifs are interwoven into the flower of life geometric design on the floor. The patterns indicate the geometric structures that can be found throughout the show. The three petals’ shadings also depict the expo’s architectural layout.
He also worked for Nike-Sole of DXB-Dubai Design District, where he painted a live mural for Nike during Sole DXB, incorporating Nike shoe sole patterns and an Islamic geometric portrayal of the Dubai skyline.
Burj Khalifa Projection DSS Opening Ceremony 2021, where he used geometric representations of falcons, flamingos, desert, abra, rocket to Mars, dallah kettle, and more to tell the tale of Dubai.
