On the occasion of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which took place from August 13 to 15, Artscrafts, one of the most prominent promoters of international art and culture, made history by gathering a large number of Indian artists under one roof. Under the sponsorship of the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Artscrafts’ organized a fantastic event that touched every facet of art. A variety of art contests, exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions, live art performances, and children’s programmes were all part of the event.
Anil Kejriwal, founder and CEO of Artscrafts, said “We are most grateful to the art community that worked with us to make this event a big success. Second Secretary Dhruv Mishra IFS gave the ceremony its official start. Many notable figures from the UAE’s social scene honored the event with their attendance. People from all walks of life and young people eager to discover fresh artistic techniques were all around the festival. The opening and closing ceremonies featured art concerts in addition to works of art from India and the UAE, which gave the event extra color. All of the artists, including those who created rangoli, live art, workshops, and participated in the exhibition, contributed significantly to the success of this event. The involvement of our sponsors, support partners, hotel partners, and media in making this event special has been tremendous.
The live art event had about 19 artists who created stunning works of art honoring India. The audience’s opportunity to observe the techniques used in the creative process surprised the artists who took part in the live painting session. Sarans Guruvayoor produced a 9 by 5 foot painting that spans 75 years of Indian history.
The live pottery created by Pranoti Karajgi was another main draw of the event. This drew interest from both adults and children. In honor of their motherland, children painted flags on Day 1 and created live art on Day 2. “These exercises will increase children’s knowledge of India. To create a generation of responsible citizens who may actively contribute to the development of Mother India, we need to sow the seeds of patriotism at a very young age, according to event director Dr. Devisree S. Sunjay Sudhir, the Indian ambassador to the UAE, presided over the three-day festival’s closing celebration and expressed his joy at the event’s success. The Artscrafts team was also urged by him to make it a yearly event at the embassy of India.
