Sharjah humanistic discipline Academy
The Sharjah Humanistic Discipline Academy invites aspiring designers, technicians, stage managers, and performers to demonstrate their talents to the school.
Over the course of a series of open days and auditions, the institution will provide gifted creatives with the opportunity to expedite their applications to a variety of courses, including Bachelor’s degrees in acting, production arts, and musical theatre, as well as the Trinity Level 6 diploma in professional dance.
In order to hone their talents, participants will also be asked to participate in campus visits, theater workshops, and professional masterclasses.
National Pavilion of Bahrain 2023 at the Venice Biennale
The 18th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale is trying to find multidisciplinary teams to investigate the issue of water.
The sea and the availability of freshwater have always been important to Bahrain’s islands, from its historical significance as a pivotal trading outpost in an otherwise arid region to its modern, dense urban settings. However, Bahrain currently has one of the lowest ratios of water resources to population, making it one of the biggest issues facing the nation.
Practitioners are invited to analyze the water issue and present remedies motivated by the nation’s history.
Art Jameel Research Grant: Mapping the humanities in KSA (1940–2000)
Art Jameel may be a chance for practitioners and researchers to learn more about modern art, exhibition histories, and artist networks within the Arabian Gulf.
Exhibition Histories in Saudi Arabia (1940–2000), Artist Networks in Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf (1940–2000), and Art Education in Saudi and/or the Gulf are a number of the subjects up for investigation (1940–2000).
Projects at the Lab: Archives
Jordan’s Darat al Funun is encouraging creative experts from all fields to submit suggestions to experiment with, investigate, and nurture fresh ideas.
The Lab, Darat al Funun’s project area, are going to be made available to selected applicants so they can produce and install their artwork there.
The initiative is particularly targeted at artists who deal with archives, whether or not they are from Darat al Funun’s own 30-year archive or another that focuses on the area.
Cultural Foundation Art Residency 2023
The Cultural Foundation Art Residency in Abu Dhabi is currently accepting applications from UAE citizens and residents for its six-month residencies.
Professional artists from many disciplines can use this opportunity to develop their skills and practice using unique studios and tools. The residency program will give artists an area to create and display their works inside the Cultural Foundation, giving them unmatched exposure and support.
Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Project Award
Qatar Museums’ Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Project Award is providing a grant of 30,000 QAR (Dh30,000) for the creation of a project by a resident photographer in Western Asia and North Africa.
As a part of the Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar, grant recipients will also have the chance to display their artwork and take part in public and online events.
Murals at Waterfront Market and Art Competition
Local and homegrown artists are invited to enter the Murals and Art Competition by the Waterfront Market and Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. In lieu of Expo Dubai 2020, artists are invited to share their views on how Dubai might appear in the future.
As a part of Dubai Art Season 2023, the shortlisted and winning artists will get a financial award as well as the opportunity to unveil their murals in a fun celebration at the Waterfront Market.
The Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award 2023
The 11th Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award, sponsored by Sheikha Shamsa Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan and NYU Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, is a springboard for art students and recent graduates.
All sorts of media, including but not limited to photography, painting, sculpture, video, illustration, land art, and multimedia, are encouraged for applicants to use. They’re urged to come up with innovative ideas for displaying their work in a public setting.
$10,000 are going to be given to the winning artist or team to finish their work. In November of next year, Abu Dhabi will host a public exhibition of the winning artwork.
