Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF) is presenting a landmark exhibition dedicated to Brazilian artist Leda Katunda, offering audiences the chance to explore over 40 years of her creative journey. The show spans two expansive galleries, tracing Katunda’s practice from her earliest works to her most recent pieces.
Reflecting on the experience, Katunda described the exhibition as “a very special opportunity” to place her full body of work in what she called an “intense dialogue” between past and present.
The exhibition also marks Katunda’s first visit to the Middle East and the UAE. She expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome in Sharjah, noting the city’s strong appreciation for art and cultural exchange. She further highlighted the significance of showcasing at SAF, home to the internationally recognised Sharjah Biennial, describing the opportunity as “unique” and unforgettable.
Open to the public, the exhibition invites visitors and art enthusiasts to engage with a lifetime of creative expression, offering rare insight into one of Brazil’s most celebrated contemporary artists.
