To mark the 30th anniversary of PlayStation, Reebok has partnered with Sony to launch a special sneaker collection. The collaboration pays homage to the original PlayStation console and fuses gaming culture with sportswear, delivering region-specific styles for fans in the US, UK, and Japan.
Region-Specific Styles and Nostalgic Design
The collection features three modernised Reebok silhouettes, each echoing the iconic grey of the first PlayStation console. Classic PlayStation logos and button motifs are subtly incorporated on the tongue and heel of every shoe. Limited editions will be available exclusively in each region, enhancing the collection’s appeal among collectors and enthusiasts.
In the UK, the Reebok Workout Plus trainers arrive with two lace options, a removable lacelock cable attachment, and an arch band for a better fit. The grey-lined sneakers will be available exclusively from END. starting 15 October. In the US, the Reebok Pump Omni Zone II comes with a custom pump ball in PlayStation colours, two lace options with metal tips, and retro-inspired details, launching at CNCPTS in New York City on 17 October. Meanwhile, Japan will see the release of the Reebok Instapump Fury 94 on Beams from 24 October, featuring a “Press Play” pump ball and a memory design on the tongue that nods to the classic console.
A Fusion of Gaming and ’90s Culture
This collaboration captures the spirit of two brands that defined ’90s pop culture. By blending nostalgic elements with modern sneaker technology, Reebok and PlayStation offer fans a unique way to celebrate three decades of gaming history. Collectors and gamers alike can look forward to the launches across the three regions next month.
