Japanese fashion label Stein, founded by Kiichiro Asakawa, has teamed up with Umbro to launch their first collaborative collection. This debut line effortlessly bridges the gap between retro football sportswear and modern streetwear aesthetics, reflecting a refined reinterpretation of 1990s style.
Drawing inspiration from Umbro’s historic relationship with the England national team, which famously lifted the 1966 FIFA World Cup, the collaboration celebrates the legacy of British football culture. It also underscores Umbro’s long-standing commitment to supporting players both on and off the pitch. By combining Stein’s innovative approach to materials and silhouettes with Umbro’s sporting heritage, the collection creates a nostalgic yet forward-looking statement.
A Blend of Craftsmanship and Performance
The eight-piece capsule features garments made from premium nylon-cotton dump fabric and water-repellent linen-nylon blends. Key highlights include sleek track jackets and matching track pants, padded outerwear, and wide-cut jeans crafted from vintage denim. The line also introduces high-gauge fleece tops and caps designed using Italian OLMETEX twill, merging utility with understated luxury.
Every item reflects careful craftsmanship and a focus on versatility, allowing wearers to transition effortlessly from casual to sport-inspired looks. While rooted in football history, the pieces align perfectly with today’s fashion-forward streetwear sensibilities.
