The Giza Plateau once again transforms into an open-air museum as Forever Is Now returns for its fifth edition. Running through December 6, the 2025 showcase celebrates the timeless allure of Egypt’s heritage, inviting visitors to experience art in dialogue with the world’s most enduring monuments.
Art in Conversation with Eternity
This year’s edition follows the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, amplifying Egypt’s growing role as a hub for global cultural exchange. Ten international artists were commissioned to create large-scale, site-specific installations that reflect on memory, spirituality, and the passage of time. Each work interacts with the pyramids’ mythic aura, exploring how meaning and art evolve across generations.
Visitors are guided through a sculpture trail where the ancient meets the avant-garde. The installations collectively pose a question: how do art and civilization endure, transform, and reassert their relevance through centuries?
Highlights from the Fifth Edition
Among the standout works, “Doors of Cairo” by Vhils reimagines found street objects as gateways linking Egypt’s past and present. Meanwhile, Jongkyo Park’s “Code of Eternal” employs nearly 1,000 stainless steel mirror dots that shimmer into a coded message under the desert sun. Turkish artist Ege Köse offers a chromatic reinterpretation of the Shen, a hieroglyphic emblem of infinity and divine protection. Adding an aural dimension, Ana Ferrari’s “Wind” features 21 aluminum flutes that translate desert breezes into a symphonic soundscape.
A Dialogue Across Time
Supported by UNESCO and Art D’Egypte, Forever Is Now continues to champion cross-cultural dialogue and creative exchange. The exhibition reaffirms Egypt’s position as a bridge between ancient legacy and modern imagination.
As the pyramids stand witness, the artworks remind viewers that creativity—like the sands of Giza—shifts but never fades. Visitors can explore the installations and learn more about the program through Art D’Egypte’s official website.
