McLaren Automotive has introduced the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition to commemorate its dominant 2025 Formula 1 campaign and to capitalise on heightened global demand for motorsport-linked ultra-luxury vehicles.
Championship positioning and production strategy
First, the company confirmed a production run of just 10 cars, each representing one of the team’s historic Formula 1 Constructors’ titles. At the same time, the edition follows back-to-back Constructors’ Championships and Lando Norris’s first Drivers’ Championship, anchoring the project directly to recent sporting performance. Moreover, McLaren Special Operations curated the model as a collector-focused derivative designed to translate grand prix success into a road-going asset. As a result, the project positions the Artura Spider as both a performance product and a heritage investment vehicle for high-net-worth buyers.
Design execution and commemorative detailing
Visually, the Championship Edition adopts a hand-painted MSO Bespoke livery in Myan Orange and Onyx Black, reflecting the team’s 2025 race car. In addition, “acceleration graphics” applied to the bonnet and doors reinforce a motorsport-driven identity. Meanwhile, a “10” motif, surrounded by ten stars and silhouettes of every championship-winning McLaren Formula 1 car, appears across the exterior. The car also incorporates the Black Pack specification with Stealth badges and 10-spoke Super-Lightweight Dynamo forged wheels in Gloss Black.
Inside, the cabin uses Performance Carbon Black Alcantara and Jet Black Nappa Leather with Vision Orange piping. Furthermore, bespoke headrest embroidery and a Myan Orange 12 o’clock steering-wheel marker continue the commemorative theme. Most notably, Extended Satin Carbon Fibre sill finishers carry the hand signatures of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. To strengthen provenance, custom plaques inside the cockpit and luggage compartment document every win, pole position and fastest lap from the 2025 season.
Performance profile and commercial outlook
Under the bodywork, the Artura Spider retains its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid system producing a combined 690 hp, or 700 PS. Meanwhile, the powertrain enables a 0–60 mph sprint in 3.0 seconds, preserving the model’s performance positioning within the lightweight hybrid supercar segment. However, the specification introduces a Sports Exhaust with a Stealth finisher to deliver a more assertive acoustic profile. Consequently, the mechanical package remains aligned with the 2025 mid-cycle refresh while emphasizing exclusivity through cosmetic and heritage upgrades.
For the ten approved customers, the purchase also includes a dedicated 2025 Constructors’ Championship keepsake. Finally, the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition is available strictly via application and is limited to ten customer vehicles, with pricing expected to materially exceed the standard Artura Spider’s USD 260,000 base level.
