French design brand Lexon has expanded its collaboration with Jeff Koons, introducing a new series of functional art objects that reinterpret the artist’s iconic Balloon Dog motif. Building on Koons’ Celebration series, the latest Chromatic Collection positions design as both a sensory and collectible experience.
Chromatic Collection merges sculpture with utility
The 2026 release introduces two core pieces: the Balloon Dog Speaker and Balloon Dog Lamp, each reimagined with a transparent, techno-skeletal aesthetic. While previous editions emphasized reflective metallic finishes, this iteration shifts toward translucency, revealing internal components through colored shells.
Moreover, the collection expands to four new colorways: gold, blue, red, and platinum. As a result, the objects move beyond static sculpture, instead engaging with light, sound, and materiality as integrated design elements.
“With the Chromatic Collection, we wanted to push the dialogue between art and design even further,” expressed Lexon’s CEO, Boris Brault, “adding color is a way to bring some emotion and joie de vivre to these special objects that live with you every day.”
Lighting and audio as immersive design tools
The Balloon Dog Lamp functions as a sculptural lighting system, offering a nine-color LED range alongside dynamic animations and effects. Additionally, Lexon’s Easy Sync technology allows multiple units to connect wirelessly, enabling synchronized lighting across interior spaces. Consequently, the piece operates as both a decorative object and a spatial design tool.

In parallel, the Balloon Dog Speaker translates the same visual language into an audio-focused format. The transparent casing exposes internal hardware, while the system delivers 360-degree sound distribution. Therefore, the speaker balances visual impact with acoustic performance, reinforcing its dual identity as both design object and functional device.
Furthermore, material upgrades across both pieces include refined LED diffusion, improved acoustic calibration, and enhanced structural detailing. These adjustments contribute to a more cohesive relationship between form, finish, and performance.
Collectibility and design market positioning
Each piece stands approximately 11 inches tall and weighs around one kilogram, maintaining a compact yet sculptural presence. Priced at $800 USD, both the lamp and speaker include a holographic certificate of authenticity and Jeff Koons’ engraved signature on the front paw.
While the objects function as everyday design items, they also align with the growing market for collectible design, where art and product increasingly overlap. As a result, the Chromatic Collection reflects broader shifts in how contemporary audiences engage with design, favoring pieces that combine narrative, technology, and aesthetic value.
Now available globally for pre-order, the Lexon x Jeff Koons collaboration continues to explore the intersection of pop art and industrial design, reinforcing the Balloon Dog’s enduring relevance across both cultural and commercial contexts.
