UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received the Presidential Camel Racing Team in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court.

During the meeting, the President reviewed the team’s achievements during the 2025-2026 season. Meanwhile, accompanied by Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President and Chairman of the UAE Camel Racing Federation, the delegation outlined the victories it secured at leading camel racing festivals across the UAE and the GCC region.

The team recorded wins at the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, Oman’s Al Etihad Festival and Al Bashayer Festival, the Kuwait International Camel Racing Championship, and the season-ending events in Al Marmoom and Al Shahaniya. Consequently, the results reinforced the significance of camel racing as a living cultural tradition that continues to shape regional identity.

Sheikh Mohamed congratulated the team on its achievements and praised its efforts to enhance the performance and competitiveness of the Presidential Camel Racing Team.

Cultural Heritage and Traditional Design Practices Remain Central

He noted that camel racing is an integral part of the UAE’s cultural heritage and reflects society’s deep connection to its values and traditions. His Highness also underscored the importance of continuing to support and preserve this national heritage to ensure it is passed on to future generations.

Moreover, the recognition highlighted the wider cultural importance of heritage sports, which remain closely connected to traditional craftsmanship, festival design and community celebrations across the Gulf region. As regional events continue to evolve, they also serve as platforms that showcase long-standing customs and ceremonial traditions.

Support for Heritage Sports Strengthens Regional Presence

Members of the delegation expressed their appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his continued support for camel racing and heritage sports in the UAE, noting that this support has strengthened the team’s ability to compete at home and abroad.

Furthermore, continued investment in heritage activities has helped sustain the visibility of camel racing festivals throughout the GCC. In turn, these events help preserve cultural practices, strengthen connections across generations, and reinforce the sport’s artistic and traditional identity.
