Miral, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, is expanding Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi with three new lands inspired by the world of Harry Potter.
The upcoming additions, Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, and the Forbidden Forest, will cover approximately 63,000 square metres (678,000 square feet). Construction is expected to be completed in 2029.
The expansion will introduce new Harry Potter experiences to the indoor theme park, with rides and attractions being developed exclusively for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, described the project as another major step in the development of Yas Island and Abu Dhabi’s entertainment offering.
“The introduction of the three new Harry Potter–themed lands represents a significant milestone in the continued evolution of Yas Island and the emirate of Abu Dhabi,” he said.
Al Mubarak said the project builds on Miral’s long-standing partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and its work bringing well-known stories and characters to audiences through immersive environments.
He also linked the expansion to Abu Dhabi’s wider goals for economic diversification and tourism growth, saying it would further strengthen Yas Island’s position as an international leisure and entertainment destination.
Harry Potter Comes to Life
The three new lands will recreate key locations from the Harry Potter universe, using immersive storytelling, design, and interactive experiences to bring the wizarding world into the theme park.
Among the highlights will be world-exclusive Harry Potter-themed rides created specifically for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
Simon Robinson, President Global Experiences and Studio Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, said the project reflects the company’s long-term approach to creating entertainment destinations built around its best-known stories and franchises.
“The expansion of Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi represents a significant step forward in our commitment to building world-class destinations anchored in the strength of our storytelling,” Robinson said.
He added that the three new lands would allow the company to build a deeper connection between its franchises and fans, while creating new immersive environments intended to remain a draw for visitors for years to come.
A Major Expansion for Warner Bros. World
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi currently features six immersive lands, offering rides and family attractions based on some of Warner Bros.’ most recognisable characters and stories.
The Harry Potter expansion is part of a larger development programme for the park. Two previously announced DC attractions, Kryptonite Collider and Superman Up and Away, are also included in the plans.
Once all additions are completed, the park is expected to grow by more than 50 per cent, with around 70,000 square metres (753,478 square feet) of new theme park space.
The expansion is also set to strengthen the wider attractions portfolio on Yas Island, further supporting the island’s position as a major global destination for leisure and entertainment.
