As part of the Dubai Metro Music Festival, travellers on the Dubai Metro have been treated to musical performances by 20 local and international performers spanning all genres since Wednesday. The Roads and Transport Authority and Brand Dubai started the event in 2019 to “convey the message of harmony and tolerance through music.” Expo 2020 Dubai, Jebel Ali, Mall of the Emirates, BurJuman, and Union are all included in this year’s event.
Until March 22, travellers will be able to see a lineup of performers every day from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.Passengers paused at the Mall of the Emirates station to watch a performance by French artist Christophe Servas, who has toured the world as Fils de Flute. Everyday objects such as a watering can, a drain pump, and an axe are used as musical instruments in Servas’s one-of-a-kind performance.
Passengers at the Jebel Ali and Expo 2020 stations were also entertained by performers. The musicians will play at the five stations in a rotating fashion throughout the next six days. The Dubai Metro Music Festival is one of a series of events held in February and March as part of the Dubai Art Season. The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, which ended last month, Art Dubai, which ended last week, and the ongoing World Art Dubai and Sikka Art and Design Festival are among the other events.
