The face has been extensively studied, as seen in Human Features. The face is a reflection of one’s innermost thoughts and a representation of the experiences that have shaped who we are. This group of painters combines cultural diversity and a range of artistic mediums to represent how they see the human form. Human Features intends to question the idea of a portrait by utilising a variety of media, including photographic lambda prints, scratched mirrors, and 18th century frames.

One among the artists expresses his experimental approach by employing photography as his medium and using thematically expressive visuals to portray his experiences. Halim was able to expand the usage of the medium and improve his illusionary method because to advancements in digitalization. The artist’s work continued to be primarily concerned with the effects of war and the accompanying pursuit of truth and humanity.

One of the top Middle Eastern galleries, XVA Gallery focuses in modern art from the Arab world, Iran, and the Indian Subcontinent. Exhibitions highlight both established regional artists and up-and-coming talent. The artists in the gallery convey their many cultural identities and viewpoints while urging the audience to let go of stereotypes and barriers.

In order to promote Middle Eastern contemporary art, XVA Gallery exhibits both nationally and internationally. To do so, the gallery works with other galleries and takes part in international art fairs like Art Basel Hong Kong, SH Contemporary, Singapore Art Fair, and Abu Dhabi Art.

The Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, formerly known as Dubai’s heritage neighbourhood, is where the XVA Gallery and XVA Art Hotel are situated. In an effort to increase awareness of contemporary art practise in Dubai, XVA developed and ran the Bastakiya Art Fair from 2007 to 2010.
