The beginning of the 2022 Art Competition has been announced by the National Bank of Fujairah (NBF). The competition is accepting entries under the theme “It All Starts With Me!” from all adult artists based in the UAE.
The emphasis of the competition’s topic is on how small, positive changes made by many people may have a big impact on protecting the environment. Drawings, paintings, digital art, sculptures, and other creative forms are all acceptable as entries as long as they relate to the issue of sustainability and the part that everyone of us can play in combating climate change and preserving the environment.
The NBF Art Competition, which launched in 2021 and had nearly 200 submissions, is a significant initiative designed to support and advance the developing art scene in the UAE.
This year’s Selection Committee is made up of Patricia Millns FRSA, Ahmad Al Rashid, Founder and Director, Mara Firetti, CEO, Founder and Curator of Firetti Contemporary Gallery, and Khalil Abdulwahid, Director Of Fine Arts, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
The Selection Committee will assess and score entries in accordance with predetermined technical criteria after the submission deadline of August 30 before shortlisting the top ten entries. On September 22, the 10 finalists’ artworks will be on display at the Capital Club, DIFC, and the top three will be revealed at a ceremony there the same day.
The top three winning artists will also get a cash award and a private mentoring session with a well-known art expert. Later, all 10 of the shortlisted works of art will be shown throughout NBF’s main offices in the UAE.
