This weekend, the three-day Anime and Gaming Con will be held at Al Ain Mall. Free admission is available to the event, which takes place from Friday to Sunday and includes an esports tournament featuring titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Valorant, and Fifa 23.
Sharaf DG and AD Gaming will award prizes to the winners, and there’s also a chance to win a VIP experience for the next Blast Premier World Final at Etihad Arena in December.
Additionally, there will be freebies, a retro arcade gaming area, adult and youth cosplay competitions, and more.
Gaming and anime Con will also have various areas set aside for pursuits like painting, singing, and photography. Dodgeball, laser tag, bowling, and board game competitions will all be held.
According to James Hartt, head of strategic initiatives and business development at AD Gaming, the gaming and esports industry in Abu Dhabi is expanding quickly and is becoming a bigger part of the emirate’s overall economic diversification agenda.
Events like this Anime and Gaming Con are crucial because of the highly enthusiastic gaming and pop culture fans in Abu Dhabi, and in particular Al Ain.
“By fostering a desire for a profession in video game development and esport event production, we seek to kindle a passion for the long-term, sustainable expansion of the emirate’s gaming industry,” the statement reads.
