On Sunday, November 27, at the Jameel Arts Center, the UAE’s annual one-day festival celebrating all things green will hold its third iteration. The Jaddaf location of The Centre allows experienced and novice gardeners, nature and crafts lovers, and eco-conscious and sustainability-aware individuals to experience various fun and educational activities for all ages from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In the festival’s outdoor arts and crafts area, there will be ongoing drop-in workshops for all ages, demonstrations, and information booths for kids, teens, and adults focused on sustainable living, as well as a schedule of speeches by environmental and sustainability specialists.

“We’re extending a warm invitation to the UAE’s expanding community of enthusiasts, the eco-conscious and sustainability-aware, to come join us at Jameel Arts Centre on Sunday for “Down to Earth,” the UAE’s annual festival for all things green,” said Antonia Carver, Director, Art Jameel, in a statement to Al Arabiya English before the event. The no-cost, family-friendly event has markets selling regional, organic foods, plants, gifts, workshops, arts and crafts markets, speakers, and other activities. “Down to Earth,” a project that spans the Jameel, its gardens, and the Jaddaf Waterfront Sculpture Park, brings together members of the public with eco-entrepreneurs, farmers, and gardeners from the UAE to work together and promote a culture of sustainability.

More than 35 creative businesses are participating in Art Jameel’s event, including fresh produce, eco-friendly clothes and home decor, family fun, demonstrations at green stations, and a daily schedule of engaging and thought-provoking workshops and speeches.

All ages are welcome, and admission is free. “Down to Earth” is a part of Art Jameel’s extensive focus on ecology, biodiversity, and sustainability, which permeates all programming, research, buildings, and gardens. Jameel Art thanked BEE’AH Tandeef for being their sustainability partner for “Down to Earth,” and welcomed everyone to check out their neighborhood, Jaddaf Waterfront, which is directly on the Creek and is Dubai’s newest creative hub.

“Down To Earth” is Jameel Art Center’s signature festival, bringing together stakeholders from the Dubai community who are invested in actively working toward a more sustainable future, according to Nora Razian, Head of Exhibitions at Art Jameel. “People who are interested in learning more about how technology and changes in agricultural practices are influencing how we eat or make water, as well as those who want to learn how to incorporate more sustainably-minded habits into their daily lives, such as buying local produce, learning waste-free living tips, or greening their homes, are invited to the event.”

The annual festival, which spans the Jameel Arts Centre and the Jaddaf Waterfront Sculpture Park, also features a Green Bazaar, which offers a wide selection of indoor and outdoor plants, as well as related eco-conscious and sustainability-aware gifts and products from local businesses, and the Art Jameel Shop, which has a unique collection of festival-themed books and design items.
