American artist Audrey Miller releases a 51-piece ‘Always Ahead’ collection to honor 51 years of the UAE. 10 percent of all proceeds from the collection will be allocated to The Reach Campaign, a UAE-based awareness and fundraising initiative that aims to end two neglected tropical diseases (NTDs): river blindness and lymphatic filariasis.
Audrey moved to Dubai in 2011 to design critical spaces in the city. Her geometric designs have adorned Islamic prayer spaces throughout the UAE and beyond since 2012. She returned to art in January 2021 as part of her recovery from a traumatic brain injury that left her with a yearning to reconnect with her uniqueness and the world.
Inspired by Audrey Miller’s love for the UAE, the limited-edition collection is an artistic celebration of the country’s commitment to innovation and excellence. The collection uniquely captures familiar monuments and moments treasured by the UAE, from the 1971 Union to the 2022 launch of the Mohamed bin Rashid Library. The collection is designed in Miller’s signature style, “Neopatrism,” with subjects elusively hidden in plain sight.
Miller commented on the release of her collection: “My goal with this collection is to introduce a new type of aesthetic design, confuse viewers with an impalpable sense of familiarity, and then surprise them by finally revealing the subjects which are being celebrated.”
“While the inspiration for the collection comes from my love and awe of what the UAE has achieved over the past 51 years, the country is also home to a number of humanitarian initiatives that are just as inspiring, such as the Reach Campaign. By partnering with Reach, I am both celebrating the UAE and supporting one of its honorable initiatives, which aims to help people living continents away. I call on the creative community to support the many UAE-built campaigns, all of which deserve advocacy.”
The collection is 51 pieces, each limited to 51 editions. The artwork is printed on 51 cm2 of fine art paper and framed with museum glass. A web-based viewer using AI technology lets collectors reveal hidden subjects. A digital collectible also accompanies each piece on the blockchain (NFT), enabling collectors to certify the authenticity of their physical works.
