Makkah digital artist, Rayan Mal, is taking the Saudi Arabian art scene by storm with his unique blend of digital media and traditional artistic techniques. With his eye-catching work, he is bringing a fresh perspective to the country’s landscape, architecture, and culture.

Mal’s journey began when he received a camera from his father, which he used to take his first picture of his mother. From that moment on, Mal knew that he had found his calling. He quickly expanded into the field of filmmaking, adding digital art and motion graphics to his repertoire. Mal’s love of technology and art helped him create a visual message that connects with people.

His work has not gone unnoticed. He has received several prizes, including the Waai Award in 2021 in the short film category from the Ministry of Health for his short video on how Makkah dealt with COVID-19 during the pandemic. Mal’s video highlights the efforts made by the authorities to keep the city safe while showcasing its beauty.

In addition to his accolades, Mal has also collaborated with some of the most prominent officials in the country, including Turki Al-Sheikh, the chairman of the General Authority for Entertainment. Mal was awarded by Al-Sheikh for his short video, which showcased the 92nd National Day of Saudi Arabia.

Rayan Mal has also been involved in the Riyadh Season and has worked on several creative projects. One of his most notable projects was a movie he shot at Boulevard World, where he showcased the cosplay talent during the festival season. His project was edited and enhanced with his unique designs and effects, which made it even more memorable.

In 2019, Mal’s “Hajj Feelings” short video highlighted the experience of pilgrims and the organization of Saudi officials during Hajj. The video won him an award from the Ministry of Interior in the competition category.

Mal’s work is not just about showcasing the beauty of Saudi Arabia but also about highlighting its diversity. “I’m from Makkah, the home of Islam and people of all colors and ethnicities. In my videos, I like to demonstrate how my hometown treats visitors with grace and humanity,” he said.

Mal’s ultimate goal is to create his own production house to connect with other talents and businesses in the industry. He has seen tremendous potential in the younger generation and believes that the art scene in the Kingdom is thriving. “If we only believe, we can outperform international shows,” he said.

Mal’s unique perspective and creative use of digital media have garnered him a loyal following in the art community. His work offers a glimpse into the rich culture of Saudi Arabia and showcases the beauty of the country. With his talent, Mal is quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting young artists in the region. His future looks bright, and it will be exciting to see where his art takes him next.
