Diya Advani – Best Youth Art
Diya Advani is a high school student currently enrolled in an AS Level Art program at Dubai Gem Private School. Since she was three years old, she has been pursuing her passion for art, which she had since she can remember. She regularly experiments with new materials and methods as a student to express her artistic vision; her two favorites are watercolors and colored pencils. Most of her works of art are interpretive pieces with a focus on raising awareness of various concerns. Her IGCSE homework concentrated on the idea of unification, particularly between humans and nature, to illustrate how we are a part of nature rather than apart from it and to highlight how crucial it is to take care of every living species to preserve that relationship. In her AS-level coursework, she studied the idea of garbage and treasure and how recycling trash can result in treasure. She expanded on this concept by highlighting the fashion industry’s potential for adopting sustainable methods. As part of this, she also created an entire outfit out of waste items like used jeans and trash bags.
