Jack is a talented palette knife painter based in Germany, originally hailing from the UK. He made the life-changing decision to relocate to Germany in 2012 with his girlfriend, who is now his wife. At the time, Jack was pursuing a career as an earthquake researcher in academia. However, his heart had always been drawn to art, and after spending over a decade as a geologist, he finally decided to follow his passion and become a full-time artist.
With a unique approach to his craft, Jack applies thick layers of acrylic paint to sizable canvases using palette knives. While he explores various subjects in his work, he finds a special fascination with portraits. His technique of using bold knife strokes to capture facial contours and reflected light lends an element of expressive emotion to his art, infused with a touch of abstraction. Through multiple layers of acrylic and deft use of palette knives, Jack skillfully crafts textures and depth, resulting in vibrant, colorful, and distinctive artworks.
Currently residing in the Olpe district of Sauerland, Germany, Jack shares his life with his wife Teresa and their two children, Henry and Isla. As a full-time artist, he continues to explore and develop his unique approach to palette knife painting, leaving an indelible mark on the art world with his emotionally evocative and visually captivating creations.
