Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is all set to continue its unique and captivating initiative, the ‘School of Life,’ throughout August 2023. This initiative aims to provide visitors to Dubai Public Libraries with an enriching edutainment experience, offering a plethora of opportunities to explore the hidden gems of our world, nurture skills, unleash talents, and broaden knowledge.

The ‘School of Life’ programme at Al Safa Art and Design Library promises to take participants on an enchanting journey through pharaonic North Africa with its exclusive ‘Unveiling Egypt’s Ancient Marvels: The Pyramids’ workshop. Interactive sessions will be conducted, where creativity will be unleashed in stamp designing, crafting unique passport covers and dream destination tickets, and sculpting. Moreover, the art of storytelling will be celebrated in the ‘Crafting Your Personal Travel Journal’ workshop.

Meanwhile, at Al Mankhool Public Library, five inspiring workshops are scheduled throughout the month. Participants will have the opportunity to visualize the shape of Dubai in unusual weather conditions through drawings and colors. The ‘Symbolism of Flags’ workshop will be an insightful experience, teaching attendees about the intricate details of the country’s flag, its colors, and the different meanings they hold. Participants will even get the chance to create their own flags. In the ‘Futuristic Shapes’ session, families will discover the architectural wonders of the Museum of the Future, learn techniques to design special stickers for travel bags, and acquire skills for creating personalized travel diaries to document their adventures.

Al Twar Public Library will host the enlightening workshop, ‘Unveiling the Taj Mahal’s Beauty,’ focusing on the wonders and aesthetics of India. Visitors to Hatta Public Library will also get a chance to showcase their creativity by designing special covers and stamps for passports, adding a personal touch to their travel documents.

The ‘School of Life’ educational sessions are scheduled to run until March 2024 and are presented by a group of esteemed speakers, experts, and individuals with distinguished experiences. This initiative reinforces Dubai’s position as a global center for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.

Through this initiative, Dubai Culture is not only promoting the love for learning but also encouraging individuals to explore the diverse and fascinating cultures that enrich our world. Participants in the ‘School of Life’ programme are given a unique opportunity to delve into the hidden gems of different countries and appreciate the beauty of their arts, history, and architecture.

The initiative aligns with Dubai’s vision to foster an environment where creativity and innovation thrive, creating a well-rounded society with a deep appreciation for culture and education. By combining education and entertainment, the ‘School of Life’ initiative proves to be a one-of-a-kind experience that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on all those who participate.

As the month-long journey continues, more and more people are expected to be inspired by the ‘School of Life’ initiative, taking away valuable lessons, cherished memories, and a newfound understanding of the world we live in. With the cultural experiences and knowledge gained, participants will be equipped to become true global citizens, appreciating the beauty of diversity and contributing to a more harmonious and interconnected world.
