Suzanne, a talented artist with a deeply rooted passion for art, hails from Iraq where her creative journey began at an early age. Growing up, she had the privilege of visiting various art galleries alongside her father, and even had the opportunity to meet renowned abstract painters in Iraq, such as Jamil Hamoudi, Layla Al-Attar, and Sabih Naama. These encounters with esteemed artists left an indelible mark on Suzanne’s young mind and fueled her enthusiasm for creating art.
Despite the challenges that surrounded her in Iraq, Suzanne found solace and joy in the act of painting. Amidst the chaos, she discovered her own unique definition of beauty and art became her sanctuary. However, in 2005, she had to leave her homeland behind, along with her paintings, and begin anew in Canada. Immersing herself in a new culture, Suzanne had to put her creative dreams on hold while pursuing a career in Civil Engineering, earning her bachelor’s degree in the field.
After settling into her career and life, Suzanne decided it was time to reignite her passion for art. She enrolled in Drawing and Painting Courses at the Alberta College of Art and Design, marking her return to the art scene. Since then, Suzanne has been painting fervently, exploring new techniques, and experimenting with various media.
Her artistic inspiration knows no bounds, drawing from shapes, colors, events, and emotions. Nature, with its infinite beauty and complexity, also serves as a wellspring of inspiration for her artistic endeavors. In each of her paintings, Suzanne conveys messages of gratitude, hope, beauty, and perseverance, using her art as a medium to express her innermost feelings and share her unique perspective with the world.
