The vibrant Emirati cultural heritage of Abu Dhabi is brought to life through student artworks currently on display at Manarat Al Saadiyat. The Creative Art exhibition features a diverse collection of over 1,000 pieces created by pupils from various public schools in Abu Dhabi. The exhibition, organized by the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) and the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec), aims to foster creativity and artistic innovation while inspiring young talents from across the UAE.

The showcased artworks reflect different facets of Abu Dhabi’s rich cultural heritage. Highlights include a large painting representing the seven emirates by students from Ain Jaloot School, a portrait of Sheikh Zayed, and a depiction of an Emirati man interacting with a falcon. The students drew inspiration from historical sites such as Al Ain and the ancient forts of Liwa, bringing these elements into their art.

Other notable pieces include story-art works featuring palm trees by grade 1 students from Rooh Al Etihad School, paintings of traditional Emirati scenes such as women weaving mats and baskets, sailors pushing boats, and depictions of old Emirati houses.

Aisha Mohammed, an Emirati visitor to the exhibition, remarked, “This is really fantastic artwork by such small children. This will help improve their creativity and promote their talent.” Saif Saeed Ghobash, the director-general of TCA Abu Dhabi, stated, “By showcasing the students’ artworks, we aim to nurture their artistic talents and encourage them to develop their passion for the arts.”

Dr. Karima Al Mazroui, advisor to Adec’s director-general and acting P-12 executive director, expressed pride in the students’ work. “We take pride in how our students express their creativity in visual arts, drawing inspiration from the UAE’s local heritage, Guggenheim collections, and workshops led by Emirati art experts.”These have significantly enhanced our students’ arts exposure this academic year.”

The exhibition runs daily from 10 am to 8 pm and will continue until May 21.
