The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has unveiled an exciting lineup of events to commemorate the 53rd Eid Al Etihad, celebrating the UAE’s heritage, creativity, and cultural identity. The festivities, running from December 2nd to 4th, will include interactive workshops, mesmerizing performances, and unique cultural experiences across various heritage sites in the emirate.

A prelude to the celebrations will take place on November 29th at the Al Safa Art and Design Library. Visitors can enjoy artistic and musical performances alongside workshops showcasing the creative flair of local talent. Among these are activities like Dukhoon Making, where participants blend raw perfumes to craft traditional incense, and sessions on Emirati flag-weaving, Arabic calligraphy, and henna artistry—all deeply rooted in UAE heritage.

Adding a visual highlight, artist Hazem Kurdali will unveil the Mural of Union: Zayed and Rashid, a tribute to the founding fathers Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Culinary enthusiasts can explore Emirati gastronomy under the guidance of Chef Soumaya, who will offer a taste of authentic local cuisine.

From December 2nd to 4th, Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood and Hatta Heritage Village will transform into hubs of cultural expression, featuring folkloric and musical performances, family-friendly entertainment, and a variety of dishes prepared by local eateries.

The Al Shindagha Museum, illuminated in the colours of the UAE flag, will host cultural activities that bring heritage to life. Visitors can participate in traditional crafts like jewellery making and dukhoon crafting, immersing themselves in the region’s artistic legacy.

At the Etihad Museum, vibrant celebrations will blend Emirati traditions with modern innovation. Activities will include Sadu weaving-inspired crafts, a planting workshop symbolizing sustainability, and culinary experiences like customising traditional dates. Visitors can also savour a variety of local and international delicacies from F&B kiosks while enjoying performances of Al Ayyala and Al Harbiya dances, alongside enchanting oud melodies.

Dubai Culture will also contribute to Dubai Airports’ celebrations on November 28th, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. A dedicated pavilion will showcase exhibits on pearl diving, a vital profession in the UAE’s past, along with competitions highlighting heritage traditions.

This comprehensive celebration underscores Dubai Culture’s mission to foster national pride and ensure Emirati traditions remain vibrant and relevant for future generations. By seamlessly blending heritage with creativity, the 53rd Eid Al Etihad promises to be a cultural feast for residents and visitors alike.
