Parisian furniture brand Tiptoe has launched a striking new furniture collection featuring the iconic International Klein Blue (IKB), a color made famous by French artist Yves Klein. The collection, a partnership between Tiptoe and the Yves Klein Archives, reinterprets eight of the brand’s classic pieces with the artist’s signature ultramarine hue.
A Bold Monochrome Statement
The Tiptoe x Klein Blue collection includes a range of items from the brand’s catalog, such as its modular table legs, wall brackets, the Lou stool, a round coffee table, and a bench, as well as new designs like the SSD chair and Pli shelf. Each piece adopts the vivid ultramarine tone, which Klein famously described as “the most perfect expression of blue.”
In the 1950s, Yves Klein developed his revolutionary formula for International Klein Blue by mixing ultramarine pigment with a synthetic resin binder. He used the color extensively in his work, particularly in his celebrated monochrome paintings.
Design and Durability Meet Artistic Heritage
Tiptoe’s goal with this collaboration was to emphasize the clean, modern silhouettes of its furniture while showcasing Klein’s dramatic, monochromatic aesthetic. True to the brand’s ethos, the pieces are designed for longevity and entirely produced and colored in Europe, ensuring both durability and craftsmanship.
Second Artistic Collaboration
This collection marks the second collaboration between Tiptoe and the Yves Klein Archives, following their initial partnership in 2023. Tiptoe continues to merge design with art, delivering furniture that resonates with contemporary aesthetics while honoring artistic legacies.
