“ArtMap reflects the unique ecosystem that makes Dubai a global destination.” — Dr Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash
The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, in partnership with thejamjar, has launched the 29th edition of ArtMap. This comprehensive guide highlights art galleries, festivals, exhibitions, and cultural initiatives in the UAE. As Dubai emerges as a global cultural hub, ArtMap showcases the city’s rich creative offerings and celebrates the dynamic growth of its arts scene.
Celebrating Dubai’s Artistic Growth
ArtMap illustrates the evolution of Dubai’s creative industry over the past six years, featuring over 40 galleries, iconic museums like the Etihad Museum, and a bustling calendar of cultural events. Festivals such as Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert, Sikka Art and Design Festival, and the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature are key highlights, alongside Art Dubai’s innovative new digital art section, Art Dubai Digital.
Empowering Artists and Creatives
Through initiatives like the Al Quoz Creative Zone and Dubai Public Library programmes, ArtMap supports UAE-based artists with awards, grants, and training opportunities. The guide also showcases events like the Quoz Arts Fest and explores the Dubai Public Art Strategy’s vision to transform the city into an accessible gallery.
Spotlighting Regional Excellence
The 29th edition delves beyond Dubai, celebrating the broader UAE arts landscape, including Abu Dhabi’s Manar Abu Dhabi and the Sharjah Biennial 16. Emerging artists, such as Latifa Saeed and Sara Alkhayyal, are featured alongside prominent names like Ammar Al Banna. Additionally, Sheikh Maktoum bin Marwan Al Maktoum’s ArtMap cover design highlights his innovative approach to cultural symbolism.
Dr Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, CEO of the Arts, Design, and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, said: “ArtMap reflects the unique ecosystem that makes Dubai a global destination, offering inspiring opportunities for creatives while celebrating their achievements.”
