Rick Owens returned to the Palais de Tokyo to debut his Fall/Winter 2025 collection, “Concordians.” Inspired by his formative years in Concordia, Italy, where his factory has operated for over two decades, the collection is a deeply personal tribute to Owens’ journey of building his brand.

A Nostalgic Reflection

“Concordians” draws on Owens’ early experiences in Concordia, including his factory stays and travels from California to Europe. Reflecting on his minimalist lifestyle, Owens shared, “I want to depend on less things but make them as supernatural as possible.” These sentiments inspired the collection’s mindful yet versatile designs, perfect for those on the move.

Essentials with a Villainous Edge

The collection featured “everything” looks, balancing practicality with Rick Owens’ signature dark aesthetic. Standout pieces included Dracula-collared coats made of vegan-tanned calf leather, flared bronze-coated jeans, and shredded denim. Thermal layers, British mélange wool felt jackets, and non-slip platform workwear shoes named “Factory” added both utility and style.

Soundtrack to the Future

Set to David Bowie’s “Heroes,” the show evoked imagery of a foggy train station, symbolizing a journey to a “weird and wonderful future.” This autobiographical narrative ties Owens’ California roots to his European evolution, with the collection serving as a tribute to resilience and creativity.
