Porsche Design has reimagined its iconic timepiece with the release of the Chronograph 1 – F.A.T. 2025 Edition. Limited to just 136 pieces, this exclusive watch introduces a fully white Super-LumiNova coated dial, ensuring maximum readability in darkness. A tribute to Porsche’s motorsport heritage, this timepiece continues the legacy of innovation that began with the Chronograph I in 1972.
A Bold New Look for an Iconic Chronograph
The original Chronograph I, launched in 1972, was a pioneer in all-black chronographs, inspired by the dashboard of the Porsche 911. Now, flipping that concept, Porsche Design has collaborated with FAT International to create a striking white-dial variant. The black indices, numerals, and hands contrast sharply against the white background, while the red stop-seconds hand ensures enhanced visibility—a crucial feature for endurance racing events like Le Mans.
More than just a color change, the Chronograph 1 – F.A.T. 2025 Edition integrates historical Porsche racing elements into its design. In dark conditions, the hour counter reveals the silhouette of the legendary Porsche 962. Additionally, the subdial at 6 o’clock conceals a hidden “9,” “6,” and “2”, paying homage to the race-winning car. The day display replaces “SAT” and “SUN” with “FAT” in red, reinforcing its motorsport DNA.
Engineering and Performance Excellence
Encased in ultra-light titanium with a matte black titanium carbide coating, the watch reflects the aerodynamic precision of the Porsche 962. The COSC-certified Porsche Design caliber WERK 01.240 powers the timepiece, featuring a flyback function, making it perfect for precise lap timing.
To enhance its racing-inspired appeal, the Chronograph 1 – F.A.T. 2025 Edition comes with multiple straps, including:
- A white textile band with a FAT Ice Race badge
