Balmain is redefining comfort for Fall/Winter 2025. After delivering a bold and graphic spring collection, creative director Olivier Rousteing has shifted focus. This season, the brand embraces cozy oversized silhouettes, from winged cardigans to slouchy sweaters—and even the infamous groutfit.

Rousteing opened the runway with his signature hooded silhouette. A black swooping sweater paired with a leather peplum and relaxed leather trousers set the tone. While the upper half felt casual, polished accents elevated the look. Statement gold bangles and boho-chic slouchy boots added a refined touch. As a result, the collection balanced ease with sophistication, embodying the perfect off-duty model aesthetic.

Monotone Looks with Rich Texture

Soon after, groutfits took center stage. Although each ensemble remained monochrome, texture played a key role. Pleated skirts, embossed trousers, and ruched tops created depth. When smooth textures dominated, bold tangerine accents added visual interest. A fuzzy coat or vibrant boots transformed an otherwise neutral look.

Despite the focus on comfort, glamour remained. Rousteing showcased his signature eveningwear expertise with standout pieces. A zebra trench, a cargo jumpsuit, woven leather designs, and a striped peplum dress paired with stirrup leggings highlighted his artistry.

A Stylish Take on Dressing Down

Spotted in the front row, Doja Cat made an appearance, effortlessly commanding attention. The longtime Balmain muse, who recently performed at the Oscars in a custom beaded leopard Balmain gown, further cemented the brand’s cultural influence.

After an intense awards season, Rousteing’s message was clear. Dressing down doesn’t mean sacrificing style. Instead, it’s about merging casual comfort with a refined edge.
