In a standout partnership between two of Germany’s most design-forward brands, RIMOWA and MYKITA have unveiled their first collaborative eyewear collection. The long-term partnership combines both brands’ technical expertise with a minimalist design approach. The debut collection officially launches on April 10, featuring clean silhouettes, advanced materials, and a distinct German aesthetic.
The eyewear is crafted entirely at MYKITA HAUS in Berlin, emphasizing local production and quality. Together, RIMOWA and MYKITA have created a line that balances durability, comfort, and precision—all while staying true to their shared values of innovation and craftsmanship.
RIMOWA: Blending Craft and Innovation
The collection introduces two main series: Heritage and Visor, each designed with different audiences and functions in mind.
The Heritage series draws inspiration from timeless designs. Using anodized aluminum, this line includes square, aviator, and panto frames—each echoing vintage style with modern refinement. The lightweight feel and bold geometry reflect a blend of heritage and forward-thinking craftsmanship.
In contrast, the Visor series uses stainless steel and features toric lenses. These wraparound frames provide added UV protection and reduce peripheral glare and reflections. As a result, they’re ideal for those who spend time outdoors or prefer enhanced visual clarity.
Minimalism with a Purpose
Speaking on the partnership, RIMOWA CEO Hugues Bonnet-Masimbert explained,
“RIMOWA and MYKITA are two innovative German brands with deep technical expertise in their respective fields. With shared values on durability and craftsmanship, fusing our emphasis on movement with MYKITA’s focus on vision was a natural fit.”
MYKITA founder and creative director Moritz Krueger added,
“Our collaborative design with RIMOWA is minimalist, essential, and inherently distinctive. It reveals the specialist knowledge in materials and craftsmanship that we each bring to the table.”
The RIMOWA x MYKITA sunglasses will be priced between €515 and €595. Each pair will include a certificate of authenticity, reinforcing the exclusivity and high standards behind the collaboration.
This release not only marks the beginning of a promising partnership but also sets a new benchmark for fashion-focused eyewear rooted in technical excellence
