Valentino is set to launch L’Atelier Sonore, a bespoke listening room within its Madison Avenue boutique in New York City, opening on May 15. Created in collaboration with Italian cultural collective Terraforma, the space invites visitors to experience “deep listening and quiet contemplation” through an innovative sound environment designed by sound artist Giorgio Di Salvo.
A Crafted Space for Immersive Sound
Designed by architect Francesco Lupia, the intimate room combines three signature elements: a custom sound system, a handcrafted multifunctional listening console inspired by traditional cabinetry, and modular velvet-cushioned seating. All components feature finely veneered woods, evoking the feel of an avant-garde listening salon where craftsmanship and acoustics intertwine.
This immersive environment offers a refined sanctuary where curated soundscapes foster a subtle yet profound connection between listener and sound, echoing Valentino’s dedication to artistry beyond fashion.
Launch Event and Ongoing Program
To celebrate the opening, Valentino and Terraforma will host a 10-hour live program starting at 2 p.m. ET on May 15. The marathon features a series of 45-minute listening sessions by acclaimed artists including Laraaji, Lea Bertucci, Laurel Halo, Lizzi Bougatsos, Chuquimamani-Condori, Kevin Beasley, Veronica Vasicka, and Physical Therapy.
After the inaugural event, L’Atelier Sonore will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET through the end of August, offering visitors an ongoing opportunity to engage with curated sound experiences inside Valentino’s flagship boutique.
