G-SHOCK continues to push creative boundaries by reuniting with Japanese leather artisans Hender Scheme for a fourth collaborative release. This time, the duo revisits the DW-5900 model, offering a minimalist yet tactile interpretation infused with Hender Scheme’s renowned “Natural” aesthetic. The exclusive timepiece is set for a limited launch via raffle and select global stockists.
Signature Craftsmanship Meets Durable Utility
Hender Scheme’s hallmark craftsmanship shines through in this DW-5900 reinterpretation. The collaboration features a mix of materials including resin, inorganic glass, brass, and untreated cow leather. Notably, the watch strap is designed to evolve with wear, allowing the natural leather to develop a unique patina over time—a signature trait of Hender Scheme products.
Functionally, the watch retains all the capabilities fans expect from a G-SHOCK. It includes world time functionality, multiple daily alarms, and a custom Hender Scheme-branded backlight. In addition, the model boasts a battery life of approximately five years, reinforcing its appeal as a long-lasting, everyday accessory. Together, these elements blend utilitarian durability with refined, minimalist style.
Limited Raffle Launch and Global Stockist Release
Fans looking to secure the Hender Scheme x G-SHOCK DW-5900 must enter an exclusive online raffle hosted by Hender Scheme. The raffle opens on May 23 at 12:00 PM JST and closes on May 25 at 8:00 PM JST. Winners will have the opportunity to purchase the watch on May 27 for ¥35,200 JPY (approximately $244 USD). While the raffle is limited to domestic buyers, international enthusiasts can anticipate a broader release through select stockists starting May 30.
This release adds to G-SHOCK’s recent string of inventive collaborations, including its vibrant GA-2100 project with Action Bronson’s BAKLAVA and its unexpected partnership with Crocs. The new DW-5900 solidifies the brand’s commitment to innovation, while Hender Scheme’s understated design language brings a new level of sophistication to the G-SHOCK legacy.
