MSAA Art Showcase is now open for 2022 submissions

The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) is looking for submissions for its 2022 MSAA Art Showcase, an initiative that celebrates the work of artists who have multiple sclerosis (MS). The showcase, which began in 2009, provides MS patients in the U.S. the chance to share their original work, regardless of skill level. The inventive outlet is also meant to encourage artists who, once their diagnosis, might struggle with however the progressive neurodegenerative disorder have an effect on — or might affect — their artistry.

The point for up to three submissions is Dec. 13, 2022. Throughout next year’s MS Awareness Month, marked every March, the artworks will be featured on the MSAA website, alongside the artists’ stories. Choose items will be highlighted on the positioning throughout 2022 and in the 2023 MSAA Art Showcase Calendar.

“The MSAA Art Showcase honors all folks that share their art, and thanks to the artists for taking the time to share their inventive work with us,” the non-profit-making organization states on a webpage regarding the event. “We have received several marvelous submissions over the years from across the country and are delighted to share their work and their stories with you,” the MSAA said on the webpage showcasing the 2021 design.

Paintings in oil, watercolor, acrylics, tempera, or gouache are welcomed, as are drawings in pencil, pen, and ink, chalk, crayon, pastels, charcoal, digital, or different media. The MSAA additionally accepts graphic style and photography works. Three-dimensional artwork cherishes sculptures or pottery is ineligible, as is portrait photography or any works the organization deems obscene, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate. New entrants should email a copy of a physician’s verification of their MS diagnosing to showcase@mymsaa.org, which is also the address for electronic artwork submissions. All entrants must submit a release type along with a biographic statement of no more than one hundred fifty words regarding their art interest.  Participants should be at least eighteen as of the entry date and a legal U.S. resident. MSAA workers are ineligible. Up to three items of design for every entrant are going to be accepted. The organization has the same that the initiative demonstrates however people with multiple sclerosis, whereas physically affected by the disorder, will — and do — contribute in significant ways in which to society at large.
