To mark Caterpillar Inc.’s 100th anniversary, Cat Footwear has launched a limited-edition Centennial Collection, reinterpreting engineering landmarks through innovative boot designs. Each piece in the trio draws direct inspiration from world-defining construction feats, blending industrial storytelling with performance-driven fashion.
Golden Gate Bridge, Apollo 11, and Channel Tunnel Boots
The collection comprises three uniquely crafted models, each linked to an iconic engineering milestone:
- Golden Gate Bridge Boot:
Based on Cat Footwear’s signature Colorado silhouette, this boot incorporates a wraparound cable system inspired by the suspension architecture of San Francisco’s famed Golden Gate Bridge. Decorative gold-tone hardware replaces standard eyelets, while a grey perforated midsole adds an industrial edge to the aesthetic. - Apollo 11 Boot:
Named after the 1969 moon landing, this design mimics the technical form of a moon boot. Featuring a platformed sole, reinforced toe cap, and dusty white finish, it reflects lunar terrain visuals. Despite its chunky look, the boot remains lightweight and slope-ready, perfect for winter settings. - Channel Tunnel Boot:
Reinventing the classic Chelsea boot, this edition features a light-up midsole, tongue flashlight, and heat-sealed seams for visibility and durability. A central zip fastening adds to the boot’s sleek, functional finish, designed for dark terrain and modern adventurers.
Honouring a Century of Infrastructure
Commenting on the launch, Thomas Kennedy, President of Wolverine Work Group, highlighted the significance behind the commemorative range:
“Caterpillar Inc. has shaped the infrastructure of our world – building bridges that define cities, digging tunnels that unite nations, and enabling space-age communications. Each boot is crafted as a tribute to the monumental feats that have shaped our world. They represent more than just Caterpillar’s legacy; they symbolize enduring commitment to building connections and breaking new ground.”
The Centennial Collection channels this legacy into wearable tributes—blending rugged design, storytelling, and functionality. From suspension bridge symbolism to space-exploration aesthetics and subterranean innovation, each piece echoes Caterpillar’s ongoing impact on global infrastructure.
