Japanese label Graphpaper introduces its latest sneaker collaboration as part of the Fall/Winter 2025 collection. The PUMA SPEEDCAT Plus has been reimagined in a minimalist style to complement Takayuki Minami’s lineup of tailored essentials, bold basics, and functional workwear silhouettes. This understated sneaker pairs effortlessly with Graphpaper’s refined seasonal offerings.
Design Rooted in Motorsport Heritage
The SPEEDCAT Plus originally drew inspiration from fireproof racing shoes worn by Formula 1 drivers during the 1980s and 1990s. The 2025 edition preserves this heritage with racing-inspired overlays and an aerodynamic shape. For this collaboration, Graphpaper opts for a monochrome aesthetic in a muted tan shade. The upper combines premium suede, nubuck, and smooth leather, creating a dynamic triple-leather finish that extends from the sole to the embroidered branding.
Part of a Growing Series of Collaborations
This release follows Graphpaper’s earlier footwear partnerships, including a Converse collaboration in March 2025. That project reimagined the “Jack Purcell” silhouette in suede, aligning with the ongoing sneaker-loafer trend. Similarly, the tan suede finish recalls Graphpaper’s work with Reproduction of Found, which focused on the Russian Military Trainer model.
Release Details
The Graphpaper x PUMA SPEEDCAT Plus will launch on August 30, 2025, through Graphpaper and PUMA webstores and select Graphpaper stores in Tokyo and Aoyama. Retail price is set at $222 USD.
