Bentley has unveiled one of its most technically demanding paint finishes to date, introducing Ombre by Mulliner during Monterey Car Week at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. The striking paint technique makes its debut on the Continental GT Speed and will be available globally through Bentley’s retailer network.

A Seamless Fade That Redefines Automotive Craft

The Ombre finish delivers a flawless transition between two colours across the car’s bodywork, a process requiring over 56 hours of meticulous handcrafting by Mulliner’s skilled artisans at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe. This labour-intensive method demands real-time adjustments as technicians respond to the way pigments blend, ensuring each vehicle is entirely unique.

The first example showcases a Topaz-to-Windsor Blue gradient, flowing gracefully along the GT Speed’s sculpted profile. The fade line complements the car’s muscular proportions, while matching 22-inch wheels echo the two-tone theme for a cohesive, bespoke aesthetic.

Interior Craftsmanship Extends the Theme

Inside, the gradient concept continues with a cabin that evolves from light to dark. Topaz leather hides dominate the front seats, steering wheel, and instrument panel, gradually blending into Beluga leather towards the rear. The interior is accented with Dragonfly-coloured stitching, adding a refined yet distinctive detail.

Customers commissioning Ombre by Mulliner will have access to three curated colour pairings, each selected for its tonal harmony and visual impact. Beyond paintwork, Bentley offers full customisation through Mulliner’s Bespoke Studio, enabling clients to specify contrasting hides, exclusive veneers, and additional personalised features to complement the Ombre finish.

Art Meets Engineering Precision

Bentley describes Ombre as a fusion of artistic creativity and engineering precision, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of craftsmanship. More than a finish, Ombre is a statement of individuality—an example of how surface design can elevate a vehicle from luxury transport to rolling artwork.

With this debut, Mulliner further reinforces its reputation as the pinnacle of personalisation in the automotive world, offering clients exclusive opportunities to create one-of-a-kind commissions. Ombre by Mulliner is now available to order through Bentley’s global retailer network.
