Paulin, Paulin, Paulin has announced the reissue of two of Pierre Paulin’s most celebrated works: the 1967 Tongue chair and the 1972 Blublub sofa. The launch expands the studio’s collection, joining the Groovy armchair, and continues its mission to safeguard and share Paulin’s enduring legacy with a broader audience.
Unlike previous limited Utopic editions, the new releases are crafted on a larger scale, making them more widely available. For the Paulin family, this initiative is both an act of preservation and renewal—ensuring Pierre Paulin’s vision remains relevant while inviting new generations to engage with his pioneering design language.
Colour, customisation, and creative freedom
The updated collection offers a wide range of colourways, bringing vibrancy to Paulin’s iconic forms. The Blublub sofa, in particular, embraces personalisation, allowing buyers to select unique colour combinations for its alternating panels. This customisable approach transforms each piece into a collaborative work, where customers become part of the creative process.
The Tongue chair remains faithful to its sleek, sculptural aesthetic, while the Blublub sofa’s playful modularity makes it a striking centrepiece. Both designs reaffirm Paulin’s commitment to creating functional furniture that doubles as art.
Launch and exhibition details
The reissued Tongue chair and Blublub sofa will be available online from September 5, 2025, through the studio’s newly launched website. In addition, they will be showcased at Le Bon Marché during Paris Design Week, running until September 15. The exhibition will feature furniture alongside apparel and a capsule T-shirt collection, reinforcing the Paulin studio’s ethos of blending design and lived experience.
