The new diorama features 9,023 pieces, 38 minifigures, and a $1,000 price tag.

The Ultimate Collector’s Dream

LEGO has officially unveiled its most expensive set to date: the Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) Death Star Diorama. With 9,023 pieces and priced at $999.99 USD, this monumental set surpasses previous UCS record-holders, including the Millennium Falcon and AT-AT.

Unlike simpler models, this Death Star is a detailed cross-section diorama, allowing fans to recreate iconic scenes from the original Star Wars trilogy. Highlights include Luke and Leia swinging over the reactor shaft, the Emperor’s throne room lightsaber duel, and the trash compactor encounter. Each section is filled with Easter eggs and meticulous details for die-hard collectors.

Record-Breaking Minifigure Lineup

To bring the Death Star to life, LEGO has included 38 minifigures, the most ever in a single set. The collection features key characters such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Princess Leia, alongside obscure Imperial officers and playful nods like a “Hot Tub Stormtrooper”, referencing LEGO Star Wars video games.

Release Details

The UCS Death Star will be released online on October 4, 2025, with early access for LEGO Insiders starting October 1. Designed for serious collectors and Star Wars fans alike, the set exemplifies LEGO’s dedication to combining intricate design, immersive storytelling, and collectible value.

Fans can anticipate hours of building, display-worthy results, and a unique opportunity to own a piece of LEGO and Star Wars history.
