After decades of dormancy, Forrester’s, the Oregon-based brand founded in 1951, is making a comeback. Known for rugged, versatile outerwear built to withstand the Pacific Northwest’s unpredictable climate, the brand has reemerged under the guidance of Matt Lemman, who also orchestrated the revival of Jones Sports Co.
In recent years, golf apparel has leaned heavily on performance-first narratives, leaving a gap for heritage-driven designs. Forrester’s return embraces that nostalgia, offering timeless, layered pieces that combine durability with understated style. Lemman emphasises, “Layering sits at the core of how we design. We’re excited to share that heritage with a new generation of players who expect versatility, durability and a timeless, understated style.”
The new lineup spans base layers, mid-layers, windwear, and waterproof shells, designed to function as an integrated system that provides warmth, mobility, and protection from the elements. Key pieces include the waterproof Rainshedder™ Anorak, the crewneck Windblocker in throwback Blackwatch, and the rain-repellent Range Hoodie. Each piece stays true to Forrester’s original rugged DNA while offering contemporary functionality for today’s golfers.
With its renewed focus on heritage and practical performance, Forrester’s seeks to stand apart in a market increasingly dominated by modern, performance-centric brands. The relaunch offers a nod to the past while equipping players for the challenges of the present, proving that classic design and functionality remain evergreen in the world of golf.
