A remarkable version of the Dubai Festival for Youth Theatre (DFYT) to be launched by Dubai Culture this year

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is getting ready to launch an exceptional version of this year’s Dubai Festival for Youth Theatre (DFYT). The festival will take place from 19 – 25 Nov 2021 and has witnessed large participation of National theatre teams from across the UAE.

Dubai Culture has shaped a committee to review the theatrical performances by numerous theatre groups, so as to evaluate the work of the participants. The committee can make sure the appropriateness of the content, in terms of theatrical elements, is in line with set criteria for a clear and honest analysis of the work of the collaborating teams.

The competition’s organising committee has set 15 criteria for selecting the participating performances, that include: making certain that the final type of the theatrical script is homogeneous and coherent; the performance is obvious and understandable; it embodies the essential youth issues; it’s original and artistic in terms of content, direction, and music; which all the opposite components of theatrical work are in line with the UAE’ customs and traditions.

Al Jallaf stressed upon the importance of this Festival and its ability to attain the Authority’s aspirations to make a property creative atmosphere for theatrical arts, and also the advancement of Emirati theatre {in a|during a|in an exceedingly|in a very} method that it empowers the artistic economy, and strengthens Dubai’ position as a worldwide centre for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.

In an endeavor to arrange for a distinguished version of the competition within the lightweight of the present circumstances thanks to the pandemic, the Authority command a virtual forum last August that brought along members of the boards of administrators of National theatres across the country and a bunch of young national theatrical abilities to exchange visions and ideas. This meeting wanted to ensure that this edition of the competition lives up to the emirate’s ambitions and its theatrical talents.

DFYT, organized annually by Dubai Culture, aims to shed light-weight on the creativity of theatrical groups in the UAE, providing a platform to introduce the abilities and capabilities of those operating during this sector. The festival also provides a stage for the budding actors, directors, authors, interior designers, producers, make-up experts, sound engineers, furthermore as specialists in visual and lighting shows, and fashion designers to showcase their skills to a wider audience.
