Abdulla Lutfi’s eccentric black-and-white drawings have resurfaced in the spotlight. An Emirati artist who suffers from autism has collaborated with Amazon to develop special, limited-edition electronic Eid gift cards in a variety of denominations this Ramadan.
Lutfi offers two designs: one depicting a joyful family posed together with Eid gift ideas in the backdrop, and the other depicting parents presenting gifts to their children, who are displayed with large grins, with the words “Eid Mubarak” inscribed in the background.
Customers may email the electronic Eid gift cards to friends and family with a customized message after purchasing them online and selecting a design from two Lutfi artworks. He considers autism to be a benefit and that it offers him a non-conventional outlook on life, which he enjoys communicating through his work, he adds in describing his collaboration with Amazon.
By contributing to Amazon’s electronic Eid Gift Cards, he intends to provide happiness to everyone because it allows him to connect with millions of Amazon customers through his creative drawings.
Ronaldo Mouchawar, the vice president of Amazon Middle East and North Africa, says, “At Amazon, we are committed to establishing an inclusive culture by bringing varied backgrounds, ideas, and points of view into everything we do.” We’re pleased to be joining in on the festivities while introducing customers to Abdulla Lutfi’s great talent as a local Emirati artist on the autistic spectrum. ”
In 2017, he had his first solo show at the Cuadro art gallery in Dubai. With his distinctive monochrome sketches, he offered a satirical approach to the city’s skyline as well as images of life in the Gulf. Since then, he’s worked with companies like Converse to produce street art at Dubai’s Kite Beach and Crate & Barrel to create UAE-themed Christmas ornaments.
