Abu Dhabi University (ADU), which is ranked third overall in the ‘Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023,’ opened a cutting-edge Innovation Center in its Al Ain branch, keeping with the institution’s innovation agenda (ADUi).
The Al Ain community, students, educators, researchers, small- and home-based business owners, people looking to launch a business, and innovators are all welcome at the Center. The Center will provide a venue for business testing and experimentation for the student and faculty bodies and the larger community. It will be research- and innovation-focused.
The Center is the outcome of ADU’s innovation mission, which supports community development through innovation and research to enhance academic programmes and promote societal and economic development.
The Center plays a crucial role in ADUi’s plan for developing sustainable innovation. It provides three areas that encourage collaborative and sustainable efforts in design and fabrication, networking, and marketing.
The newest technologies, mentorship, and support will be provided to students, academics, and individuals interested in initiating, developing, and testing their designs or in the fabrication or commercialization of the designs.
Along with the three zones, the Center will also house ADUi’s Lab for Public Services, which aims to improve the capacity of government agencies, specialists, and regular citizens to cooperate openly, effectively, and legally to enable them to make better decisions and address public issues. Women from the Al Ain community will be able to work together, discuss, and accomplish shared goals at the Women Entrepreneurs and Innovators Forum, which will be held at the Center. This forum will be a private, serious space for diversity, equality, and inclusion. The Forum will feature open dialogues regarding gender equality, women’s leadership, talent, and opportunities in the UAE and worldwide. ADU aims to maximize the benefits of innovation through this center to benefit the wider community.
ADUi conducts research, champions evidence-based practices, and integrates a personalized approach with knowledge gained from innovative thinkers and entrepreneurs. ADU communities of reference will be included in the initiatives under ADUi, including programs, standalone events, and pertinent opportunities open to and available to all students, faculty, and staff.
