The area’s upper committee has adopted a master plan to transform Al Quoz Creative Zone into one of the major creative centres in the world, it was revealed on Sunday.
HH. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed, head of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and a member of the Dubai Council, approved the proposals, which were created by the Dubai Municipality.
A thorough plan was presented to improve the infrastructure of the community, its public services, and its spaces over the following four years, building a welcoming environment for creatives and entrepreneurs in the UAE.
As a result of the abundance of community-minded venues in the region, particularly Alserkal Avenue, where art galleries, creative co-working spaces, and locally owned restaurants congregate, it is currently one of the most well-liked among artists.
In terms of both coverage area and the volume of creative activity, Al Quoz Creative Zone will be one of the largest communities of its kind.
It will include affordable living and working spaces for artists, professionals, and entrepreneurs and is designed to support a variety of creative activities. Eventually, it will house more than 8,000 people and draw about 33,000 visitors per day.
After introducing the UAE Culture Agenda 2031 in 2018, the first national strategy to coordinate the sector’s efforts, the cultural and creative industries are a top priority for the UAE.
