After a lengthy wait, Sharjah finally gets its much-anticipated large Middle Eastern safari park. The Albridi Reserve, which has been under construction for the past seven years, finally welcomed tourists on Thursday. The Al Bridi Reserve near the city of Al Dhaid, which is home to approximately 50,000 wild animals, is spread out over 800-hectares and claims to be the largest outside of Africa.
Sharjah Safari was created by the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) in Sharjah in collaboration with Maguari-One Zoo and Wildlife Consultants. It features 12 different environments that represent African life and terrain. The park is four times the size of Monaco, and animals enjoys free roaming area across the huge land, in an attempt to simulate a real African safari. While the online ticket system is currently unavailable, visitors can purchase tickets at the site.
The permits are available from 8:30 a.m. to 6:40 p.m. and are divided into three categories: Gold, Silver, and Bronze tickets. The wildlife park is home to a variety of animals and birds, including a giraffe section. In April 2021, 121 different species of mammals, reptiles, and birds were released into the park to adapt to its environment.
Al Bardi Park in Sharjah, which first opened in 2007 as a conservation park to conserve biodiversity and natural ecosystems, is now planning to expand to accommodate the vast number of animals that will find new homes in the new safari park.
