From June 4 to 6, the Prasad Art Gallery in Ballalbagh hosted a four-day exhibition of art fashioned from coffee powder in honour of World Environment Day.
Jane Noronha’s ‘Green Waves’ exhibition, which is a collection of coffee paintings, comprises art works on natural life and aquatic animals. It is backed by the Forest Service.
According to Ms. Noronha, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the art pieces will be contributed to an educational fund that will educate youngsters from Western Ghats indigenous households.
Under its Vanachentana programme, the Sahyadri Sanchaya, a non-profit organisation, educates these children.
Deputy Conservator of Forests, Dakshina Kannada, Y. K. Dinesh Kumar, will open the exhibition on Saturday at 5 p.m. Vanachethana, a documentary film, will also be released on the occasion. The exhibition will be on display until June 7th.
