Italian design brands NM3 and QuadroDesign have introduced the OG—NM301, a stainless steel stool designed by Andrea Ferrari that combines lightweight construction with precision engineering. Developed after years of collaborative research, the project translates industrial manufacturing techniques from the aeronautical and cycling sectors into a minimalist furniture design.
The OG—NM301 reflects the partners’ shared focus on structural efficiency and material optimisation. Drawing inspiration from aerospace engineering, the stool uses stainless steel for durability while minimizing unnecessary material. Meanwhile, its distinctive leg structure reinterprets tube-bending techniques commonly associated with bicycle manufacturing, creating a clean, lightweight silhouette suited to contemporary interiors and outdoor environments.
Precision engineering shapes a minimalist furniture design
Designed for use in both outdoor settings and wet environments such as shower spaces, the OG—NM301 balances functional performance with understated aesthetics. Furthermore, QuadroDesign’s CNC manufacturing expertise enabled the transition from concept to industrial production while maintaining high technical precision.

A defining feature of the stool is its solid-machined joint, which securely connects the seat to the legs while concealing all fastening systems. As a result, the design presents a seamless appearance that reinforces its minimalist character without compromising structural integrity.
Visual campaign highlights versatility across everyday spaces
To accompany the launch, NM3 and QuadroDesign introduced the “One size Fits all” campaign, photographed by Louis De Belle. Rather than positioning the stool within a single design category, the imagery places it across a variety of lived-in settings, including creative studios and domestic interiors.

Consequently, the campaign demonstrates the stool’s adaptability while reinforcing the designers’ intention to create an object capable of serving multiple functions across different environments. Through its combination of industrial craftsmanship, refined detailing, and durable stainless steel construction, the OG—NM301 highlights the growing influence of engineering-led design within contemporary furniture.
