Umm Al Emarat Park is currently hosting a new exhibition of Arabic posters that were selected through an open call for the 100/100: Hundred Best Arabic Posters competition. This is the fourth edition of the competition, which aims to showcase contemporary Arabic visual culture and connect and inspire talent from across the region. The exhibition includes 100 posters carefully chosen by a panel of independent designers and academics.
The competition is supported by 421, an independent platform dedicated to emerging artists and creatives in the UAE. According to 421, the exhibition is a biennial non-commercial official poster competition that archives local talent, culture, heritage, and history of designs and typefaces from Arab countries and Arab-born designers worldwide.
Submissions for the competition are open to Arab-born designers, designers working in Arabic, or any work done for Arabic clients. Thousands of submissions from over 30 countries were received in the latest round of the competition, and the top 100 posters will be on display at Umm Al Emarat Park until Sunday, April 23.
Rasha Kablawi, head of Umm Al Emarat Park’s corporate affairs and communication department, believes that art is an essential part of the community, and the park is always seeking out ways to support and promote art, culture, and creativity in all forms. The park collaborates with the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation and hosts cultural events such as the Thai Festival and art workshops for children through its own Park Market.
