The first luxury handbag brand from India, combining traditional Indian craftsmanship, contemporary format, and design, was introduced at the Consulate General here, in line with the focus on the Make in India and Local for Global programs.
The unique handbag line Aranyani’, which in Sanskrit means “goddess of the forest,” was unveiled at a special event held at the Consulate General of India in New York as part of efforts to promote Indian products internationally and enhance India’s export profile.
Speaking to a crowd at the occasion on Wednesday, Consul General Randhir Jaiswal said that the inauguration of Aranyani symbolizes the best of India coming to New York and mixes the best of both the traditional and modern worlds.
It is an endeavor by Indians to look deeply into our history in order to determine how we may create a sustainable future. He claims it mixes the best and oldest Indian workmanship with cutting-edge design and fashion.
According to Jaiswal, the product is an idea that embodies India’s current vibrancy, energy, business, and entrepreneurship.
Haresh Mirpuri, the founder and chairman of Aranyani’ and Sai Lakshmi Industries, told PTI that he was driven to make India’s name proud abroad while developing the brand.
He claimed that the time had come to make the first modern luxury handbag from India, the world’s oldest civilization with centuries of architectural and manufacturing expertise.
The company is aiming to work with specific New York merchants and has plans to open storefronts in London, with New York to follow.
