Denial ‘Denial’ Bombardier, an artist, is running an art scavenger hunt in Windsor. More than 300 pieces of art are hidden all around town, and anyone can find them if they’re lucky.
“Windsor has been good to me and they’ve always supported me and why not just make a big giant thank you and give out like 300 paintings and prints and things,” Bombardier said.
The pieces are around 30×40 cm (12×16 inches), and each has a note on the back telling the finder where it can be picked up and telling them to give it to someone else as a gift. We hope this will encourage others to do the same and help create a more positive world.
“We don’t know if you do (pay it forward) or not, it’s up to you. But we’re trying to put the spirit out there.”
Bombardier and friends are going to hide the pieces early Thursday morning, with a special focus on the areas around local schools. This will hopefully make it easier for young people to find the pieces.
Some of the hidden art will be posted on Instagram, where people can find information on Bombardier’s Instagram, @enjoydenial, throughout the day. Others won’t be posted, so people can find them serendipitously.
“I just like the idea of putting something out there and seeding the idea and seeing what it turns into,” he said. “I just want to encourage art and creativity and fun in our city.”
