In line with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, who wants to improve the emirate’s cultural movement and make it the preferred destination for global cultural and creative talents, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has launched the first phase of the ‘School of Life’ project, which will run from June 2022 to the end of the year.

The School of Life project is a ground-breaking initiative that intends to provide an innovative educational environment in which all community members in Dubai can develop cultural, creative, and life skills. Throughout the year, Dubai Culture will host interactive workshops at three Dubai Public Library branches: Al Safa Art and Design Library, Al Twar Library, and Al Mankhool Library.

This initiative intends to promote cultural, artistic, creative, and life skills that contribute to positive transformation for individuals and society by creating a conducive atmosphere for talent development and encouraging active engagement of all members of society by making culture accessible to all. This would help to solidify Dubai’s status as a worldwide cultural city, an incubator for creativity, and a vibrant talent hub, as well as encourage the expansion of cultural and creative businesses in the emirate to boost its economic and cultural returns.”

Al Twar Library, Al Safa Art and Design Library, and Al Mankhool Library will host a variety of interactive workshops throughout June, including storytelling, creative writing, linguistics, crafts and visual arts, business skills, self-development, relationship building, and many other topics. Members of the Dubai Public Library are required to attend the School of Life programmes.

Dubai Culture is dedicated to fostering and preserving creative individuals by attracting talents in various fields of arts and culture from all over the world to study, live, and work in Dubai, and providing them with a rich platform for growth and prosperity in one of the world’s most desirable and ambitious destinations.
